Replies usually within 1–2 business days. Please include your device (iPhone / iPad / Mac model) and the app version.
How does my progress sync between devices?
Through your own private iCloud. Your streak, practice heat map, keying-speed history, and settings sync automatically across any iPhone, iPad, and Mac signed into the same iCloud account — usually within a few seconds. There is no Daily Morse server; your data never leaves your iCloud.
Where do the daily messages come from?
Every day of the year has its own short, original tech passage — the same one for everyone, so you can compare notes with other operators. They are written to be evergreen and refreshed with a new set each year. There is no live news feed.
Can I practice with a real straight key or buzzer?
Yes. On the Key screen, switch to Mic Key and tap “Learn frequency from mic” so the app locks onto your oscillator's tone. Then key as normal — the app listens through the microphone and reads your dits and dahs. A reasonably quiet room helps it stay accurate.
What's the difference between Standard and Expert keying?
Standard is tuned for sending under about 12 WPM and is more forgiving with timing and the spacing between letters. Expert is tuned for faster sending — it commits each letter quickly so keying well past 12 WPM feels natural. Either way the app adapts to your actual rhythm as you go.
Why isn't my streak going up?
The streak advances when you finish a full daily message — either listen all the way through, or key the whole thing. It counts by your local calendar day (midnight to midnight): complete one each day to keep it going, and missing a full day resets it to zero.
What is the “Recommended” lesson in the Learn tab?
It's chosen from your heat map — the lesson built around the characters you currently miss most. As you practice and your accuracy changes, the recommendation follows your weak spots.
Will you add a social feed / leaderboard / friends?
No. Daily Morse is intentionally a single-user tool — a quiet daily workout for your own practice, not another stream to manage.
Is there a subscription or in-app purchase?
No. One purchase covers the iPhone, iPad, and Mac versions forever, with no ads, no in-app upgrades, and no trial-to-paid mechanics.
